    Index Packaging, Inc. is the official manufacturer of two shipping indicators, Tip N Tell and Drop N Tell. These devices are applied to shipping boxes or crates to notify recipients when shipments may have tipped or dropped during transit, indicating that contents should be inspected for damage.

    In fact, Index Packaging was founded in 1968 when Bill and Connie Lander invented the Tip N Tell shipping indicator in the basement of their home in New York. Patent rights to the Drop N Tell Shipping Indicator were purchased in 1978.
